5 out of 5 Stars - I'll definitely be back
Elizabeth C. - Yelp, November 6, 2009

I've only been here once, but I'll definitely be back. Lots of veggie/vegan menu items to choose from, which makes me happy. I had a fantastic wrap that contained veggies, apples and walnuts. It was fucking fantastic! ... Also, the atmosphere was warm and cozy, which was provided the perfect respite from the blustery, fall weather.

5 out of 5 Stars - the service is out of this world
Ruth L. - Yelp, October 21, 2009

Aside from having some of the best food in Corktown, the service is out of this world. Most recently, I wandered in right at opening because I was feeling a little under the weather and dehydrated. I chatted with the staff for a while, and they provided me with some Owater and multivitamins. The pastrami sandwich did just the trick! They are so friendly and have a genuine interest in their customers. ONE MILLION STARS. :-)

5 out of 5 Stars - What a perfect lunch!
Erica O. - Yelp, September 24, 2009

I think bread pudding should always be thrown into a waffle maker. Every inch of it gets the little crispy edges that we all fight over when cutting it out of the pan at the holidays. Brilliant!

5 out of 5 Stars - If you want love in your food, this is it.
Kristen F. - Yelp, August 22, 2009

Best sammy joint (south) of 8 mile, and contest-ably the best in the state. The ambience is casual, but the minute the food arrives, you can feel the love. All ingredients, all products handpicked.

Mmmmm, can you say delicious?
Wayne Bloggers, Tuesday, April 7, 2009

...I once ordered a Fudgie Mudgie, (the best tasting dessert your tongue will ever taste) which is actually a Mudgie-made Ghirardelli brownie waffle, made to order and served warm, topped with a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream from Calder's Dairy, Sander's Hot Fudge and whipped cream, (add walnuts for $0.50), and before I left, owner, Greg Mudge gave me $2.00 back because the ice cream was a little soft. Just a LITTLE…talk about excellent customer service. Mmmm, I think I'll go get me one right now. They are not satisfied with less than the best.

Local Review: Mudgie's Deli
Detroit Drink Tank, Monday, April 6, 2009

...Seriously, the coffee is great. But guess what? We also found what's referred to as "Mexican Coke" here (made with cane sugar instead of HFCS).
And with award-winning sandwiches – plus tasty soups – you can get nourishment of a caliber not available at most average cafes.

Seize the day - Corktown's spot reborn as Mudgie's, an inspired diner
The Metro Times, Wednesday, August 27, 2008

...Though I've barely met the guy, I like to think of Greg Mudge as the embodiment of the American dream. Humble waiter in somebody else's restaurant for eight years. Sees a chance — grabs it — ends up as the hardworking but happy owner of his own place ... The house-made quality was evident in the thick, juicy chunks of chicken in the "Campbell," a warm sandwich with melted Asiago and marinara on a sub bun. The marinara was clearly non-factory-made as well, with a fresh, sweet and spicy flavor, and it gave a warm feeling to know that this level of care had gone into an $8 sandwich...

The "M" in Mudgies is for Mmm Mmm Good!
Ordinary Palate, Saturday, May 3, 2008

...The waiter was right - the "Gutty" was awesome. Salami, pastrami, roast beef, corned beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce and garlic mayo on a bagel. Although I typically have issues mixing mayo with any deli meat, this combination worked wonders! ... Round it out with great cheddar cheese and this is one sandwich I'd like to see in the suburbs. 9.5 out of 10...
